El Art Center College of Design creó un laboratorio de exploración de materiales, color y tendencias (CMTEL) para formar a sus estudiantes dentro de las líneas de búsqueda de herramientas y procesos destinados a pensar en diseño desde un punto de vista integrado, comprendiendo el comportamiento de la tecnología, la aplicación del color, el sentido global de las tendencias, la sustentabilidad y la investigación en estrategias de diseño y su relación con el estado del mercado.
El CMTEL tiene un departamento virtual de visualización que trabaja asociado a las tecnologías provistas por su socio RTT USA, quién le provee un software de visualización 3D (Delta Gen) para la digitalización de librerías de materiales, con el fin de clasificar materiales y buscarlos en tiempo real y luego poder aplicarlos al desarrollo de diseño de prototipos virtuales de modelización.

The Art Center College of Design created a laboratory for exploration of materials, color and trends (CMTEL) to train their students in line search tools and processes to think about design from an integrated perspective, understanding the behavior technology, application of color, the overall sense of trends, sustainability and design researchstrategies and their relationship with the state of the market.
The department has a virtual CMTEL display that works in association with the technologies provided by its partner RTT USA, who provides a 3D visualizationsoftware (Delta Gen) for the digitization of library materials in order to classify materialsand search them real time and then could be applied to development of virtualprototyping modeling.
